Wacky Weds: Why prime the walls?

For the cost of this paint, maybe I can save a few bucks by not priming… Sweet this product is a paint & primer in one… In some cases the above will work just fine, but that is for walls that have already been painted before. Now as for new walls or walls patched with drywall mud…

Yep the paint just peeled right off. The reason for primer is to give the paint something to grab hold of, mush like the paper. Another reason which really starts to show with higher sheen of paints is called flashing where you can see the differences between the mud & the paper. So if you are starting off with new work, make sure you prime it with a drywall primer because while it may look nice when you initially finish, for long time performance & looks…
