U-Value

The U-Value (or Factor) is generally used to measures the resistance of an entire assembly like a wall with all its associated framing, windows, doors, etc… Unlike the R-Value where you want the highest value you can get, the U-Value is actually the inverse, so the lower the number the better. To get the appropriate conversion the formula is U = 1/R & R = 1/U
