    What kind of framing member is that? That’s what scares me the most about this picture.

      Good question – I can see the main beam on the left & if I had to guess based on what I recall is that was probably for an old dropdown soffit area (of course trying to put that back would be difficult with the gas line running the way it is)
      Yeah there are a few issues there…
