Wacky Weds: You have to be kidding me

bvent-plastic-chicago-

Got to love seeing how others build in other parts of the country, for example in Chicago all exteriors have to be sheathed in gypsum. No worries as that is common in Commercial, but using plastic to wrap the exterior & venting a B-Vent through the wall like that…  Yeah not to smart & the limited amount of damage to the 10 year old building I think was more to luck then…

Are the houses really close together? The gyp may only be on the first 5 feet from the property line. It’s to keep fire from jumping to adjacent buildings.

Interesting, I was told whole area for these buildings by a pretty experienced remodeler. They are basically condos / townhomes @ 3 – 4 stories tall & yeah it was fun dragging everything up & down those flights of stairs. The walls / area in question are over 5′ from the property line with a walk out deck area, while the buildings might have 3′ to 5′ between them… Does any of the above matter or did I maybe mishear?
Thanks a lot Jeff, hope you are having a great week
