Wacky Weds: Why airseal the ceiling?

Well this doesn’t look so good… Yep I am in the attic & all I can see is the light coming up from down below. In most cases though you wouldn’t see these gaps as the drywall for the walls would be up & taped over.

So no big deal right? Well the flip side is the gaps would still be there and acting as air channels & even routes for insects & mice to run & play (yes even with insulation being installed.)

This is the view with the light being on which should help one to visulize the channels still being open even with taped joints.


So even with all that work done sealing up all the other penetrations, ones work isn’t done just yet. For more on how to do it right… Air sealing the attic
