The HTRC, Safety Sunday, & a few more Changes

The only constant is change, continuing change, inevitable change, that is the dominant factor in society today. No sensible decision can be made any longer without taking into account not only the world as it is, but the world as it will be. Isaac Asimov

Just a little over 14 months ago, the Resource Center for Homeowner’s went live. This title quickly changed to the Homeowners Resource Center aka “The HRC”. When we originally started this site, we envisioned it being primarily a resource for Homeowners and the occasional DIYer. With the advent of the EPA’s RRP regulation, the changes we are taking as a company and the boundaries started to get blurry. So 170 posts in, we decided that another name change was in order to better reflect the content; “The HTRC: The Homeowners and Trades Resource Center.”

Safety Sunday:

One of the most important things we like to stress is not only working safely, but also living safely. With that in mind, we are going to start a new series up called Safety Sunday, which will of course be posted on Sundays. These will not be long in-depth articles but rather short simple reminders, ranging from how to setup a ladder, changing a light bulb, to maybe some more tips on boating safety.

HTRC Updates:

When we first started out, the number of articles and categories made it easy to find information. With a total of 170 articles and an additional 12 articles added per month, it is starting to get difficult to find some articles and as it stands, it will get harder. With that in mind, we are looking at adding some more categories and possibly some landing pages to help make the process easier.

Upcoming Articles:

We have quite a few articles still in the pipeline; at least 2 more in the Looking Back series; a look at Michael Anschel’s class on Assessment, Strategies, and Minnesota GreenStar; a look at Passive Haus; finishing off the series on Air Sealing; and articles on designing small bathrooms, outdoor living spaces, and water conservation.
