One of the major issues for most conventions is keeping it fresh & interesting for those that are attending the classes. Well my hats off to Paul Trout, the speakers & everyone from Hanley Wood – mission accomplished. I should also state it was nice seeing that they left plenty of time to explore the floors.
On Day 3, there was 3 classes and plenty of time to explore the expo floor. Day 3 ended up with a dinner with everyone still there from Remodel Crazy & was paid for by Scott the owner of the ELM’s Software group. Day 4 was filled up with 2 classes, a few quick good byes & a little over 11 hours of driving – tiring but well worth it. As a quick primer on future articles, there was a few good classes covering everything from designing small bathrooms, outdoor living spaces, and water conservation.
Just a few of the unique displays:
Crown Point Cabinets – nice cabinets, not sure what the Homeowner will think about cleaning up that middle section
Roxul Insulation – Flame was running all day on it, floating in water, and off to the right a 120 DB alarm was in an insulated box (never would have noticed it if they hadn’t pulled it out of it)
Not to sold on this setup (the window is fine):
Festool – yeah I have tried the Kool Aid & it is good…
My show floor winner:
Ok maybe I should rephrase it, a better one would be, now why in the hell didn’t I think of this… The Spout Off
Real Outdoor Living Wood Pavilion & a few great friends:
The Green Police having a little fun:
Some people just have marketing in their genes (nice advertising Rory):
Watch out Chicago, the Remodeling & Deck Expo is heading there next year…
