As scary as it sounds I remember when blogs where originally called V Logs or weblogs and the idea of them actually being anything more than just entertaining or sad was almost ludicrous. Nowadays it seems like almost every site out there has a “blog” and if it doesn’t the marketing &/or SEO folks are crying out – you got to have one…
Fortunately a little over 4 years ago with a little nudging & encouragement the HTRC was started. While I am humbled & always appreciate getting recognized or nominated for a contest I know plenty do it trying to get attention. With that here are two I have been nominated for & encourage you to check out as a means to find some great resources you may not know about…
I first heard about the JDR Industry Blogger Awards last year when my good friend Todd Vendituoli was nominated & went on to win the construction category last year. I was pleasantly surprised to see I was nominated this year (Construction Business – SLS Construction) & hopefully can give Todd (Building Blox which is now Home Central) a run for his money this year… So if I may, can I humbly ask for your vote & encourage you to check out not only those in the “construction” categories, but also the others. (I know quite a few like Building Moxie, NARI, Titus Built, Leah Thayer & others would appreciate it)
JDR or Jackson Design & Remodeling is a Design Build company located in San Diego & is “hoping that the JDR Blogger Awards will bring additional recognition to the work of our favorite bloggers, while supporting our efforts to promote the professionalism of the remodeling industry and keep our clients informed about the latest trends in home design.” Good Luck to all
For the fourth year in a row, I have been nominated for “Construction Marketing Ideas – Best Construction Blog”. While I have enjoyed finishing 2nd one year, I must say I am not looking for any votes in this contest this year. My thoughts pretty much echo those from North Carolina’s Law Blog who calls it a “celebration of the knowledge, experience and dedication A/E/C professionals across the country are sharing day-in, day-out for the benefit of the larger construction industry. Please join me in taking the time over the next two months to explore each of the nominated blogs, and the blogs they link to…”
Just like I mentioned in last years post Mark Buckshon has a great directory of bloggers related to the construction industry & he is known for helping out & promoting many small businesses that will probably never be big enough nor working in his primary markets where he publishes newsletters. For example, you can check out many of the reviews found on the site, like the one he did on us.
In this case, I humbly ask that you check out not only Mark’s site, but also some of the great blogs listed which run the full gamut of the AEC (Architectural, Engineering & Construction) community. Take your time & vote for all the ones you consider to be the best — you are limited to voting once, but you can vote for as many as you like when you vote. Good luck to Rhonda Burgin as they shoot for 4 years in a row (though I got to say they have an uphill fight this year) & to everyone else who was nominated.
